Flexibility and strength are combined when fusing polypropylene pipe by the Pit Bull® 618. The carriage, heater, insulated heater stand, and hydraulic power unit (HPU) of the Pit Bull 618 are all independent parts that can be positioned in different configurations for versatility in confined spaces frequently encountered in the polypropylene fusion industry. Its carriage alone can fuse medium-diameter pipe from 8 inches to 18 inches with enough force (200mm to 450mm).
The Pit Bull 618 is easily mounted onto McElroy's wheeled or tracked vehicles for situations where a vehicle on wheels or tracks is required. In addition, the machine's four-jaw carriage can easily be changed into a three-jaw carriage, providing an even more compact fusion unit, to further increase adaptability in the field.
The Centerline Guidance, a balanced force system exclusive to McElroy machines, is a feature of the Pit Bull 618, as it is with many other McElroy machines. Centerline Guidance makes sure that there is an even distribution of force throughout the pipe's diameter during fusion, which produces a smooth, continuous bead and high-quality joint. Additionally, because the Pit Bull 618 is DataLogger® compatible, users can document and evaluate fusion joints while on the go.
