A Little History Regarding McElroy

McElroy Fusion Machine Parts McElroy Parts

McElroy is named after its founder Art McElroy, a designer, engineer, inventor, and businessman who began the company from his small garage in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Together with his wife Panny and a genuine passion for the science of design, McElroy Manufacturing, Inc. debuted in 1954.

By the early 1960s, McElroy had already established itself as a market forerunner when it came to fintube machinery thanks to Art McElroy’s efforts in consistently refining fintube machine design. By the time the 1960s came to a close, McElroy had solidified its reputation with a reach spanning the globe. It’s believed that McElroy may be responsible for manufacturing nearly eighty percent of all finned tubes.

The first polyethylene fusion machine designed by McElroy made its introduction in 1969. After receiving a request to create a pipe fusion machine capable of working with HDPE, McElroy rose to the challenge and created the first hydraulic machine for two to six-inch pipes that was semi-automatic and centerline-guided.

Art McElroy passed away in 1988, handing the reins of the company over to his son Chip. Under Chip’s watch, McElroy experienced even more success. Its TracStar 500 introduced in 1997 was a groundbreaking product that turned the industry on its head.
