A key upgrade in the TracStar 412i and 618i is the FusionGuide™ Control system. This intuitive system gives operators three levels of control, from manual to fully automatic operation. Operators can easily choose the level of assistance that best suits their experience and project needs.
The machines also feature an innovative indexer that simplifies workflow. The indexer integrates essential tools—heater, facer, and jaws—into a single unit. It conveniently moves side-to-side along rails for precise positioning, significantly simplifying the fusion process.
Additionally, the built-in stripping and release mechanism of the indexer enhances efficiency. When the heat soak phase ends, this system automatically removes the heater from the pipe ends, pulling it clear of the fusion area smoothly.
Further improvements include an upgraded hydraulic system with a larger-volume tank positioned beneath the machines. This design improvement helps cool the machine effectively and minimizes errors by reducing the risk of incorrect fluid use.
Both machines utilize McElroy’s reliable DataLogger® tablet, recording important fusion parameters and performance data. This provides transparency and accountability throughout the fusion process.
